SESSION EXPERIENCE

So, you're considering Shalay Peterson Photography! That is awesome! I am very excited by this opportunity and want to thank you for taking the time to look through my website and get a feel for what I can provide you!

Shalay Peterson Photography is a full service boutique business in Durham, North Carolina which means that I intend to walk you through this process every step of the way so that you will never feel stressed, overwhelmed, or abandoned. Rather, I create a FUN and memorable experience! I never want the memories of your family to begin to fade, so I want to help ensure that not only will they last but that they will be enjoyed for generations to come!

So what does a session with me look like? 

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Once you have contacted me we will discuss all of your needs and desires for your session to make sure it’s exactly what you want and need. We will pick the perfect date, decide on a location, chat about your family and how I can best serve you, and help you decide what to wear! All to help me get to know you and your family a little bit better so that I am already familiar with both you and your needs before the day of your session! 

DURING YOUR SESSION

I want you and your family to have a great time and for everyone to feel at ease, so I will take the time to help everyone feel comfortable (especially your children). During your session we will spend time getting some fun, candid photos of your family as you naturally interact with each other. I will gently guide you so that you won't feel lost or awkward but rather that you spend that time connecting with your loved ones. We'll also grab some traditional shots as well. I love to let the kids lead as much as possible. If they are feeling pressured and just want to run around then that's totally okay! This experience is meant to be fun and stress-free! Trust me, you'll come out of it with some wonderful photos of your family!

As a promise to your and your loved ones, I also work hard not to drag out a session. We’ll take all the time that I need to get the shots that you want and need, there is no pressure on time. However, my sessions on average only take about half an hour or so. Enough time to get the photos you dream off without pushing the stress of and frustration of the kiddos (or husbands ;) I know how my own feels about photos haha). My quick sessions have been something that my clients have expressed great appreciate for.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

I will spend time carefully editing each photo to perfection for you and they will be delivered no more than two weeks after your session. Family sessions produce on average 35+ edited photos. They will be delivered digitally with both full resolution and web-sized versions of each one!

INVESTMENT

At this point I hope you've checked out my portfolio and read about the wonderful experience that I provide my clients! I can imagine that at this point you are ready to talk numbers.

At the time that you book your session you will pay the the session fee which will hold your date in my books. 

SESSION FEE | $150

This session fee includes:

Pre-session consultation

My advice in selecting what to wear as desired

Up to 90 minutes of shooting time at the location of your choosing (or with my recommendations)

Editing of each photo to perfection

Digital delivery of photos with print release

Note: Family sessions include up to 5 people, any addition family members are $15 a person.
